MCWT logo and photos of women in techThe Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT) Foundation is pleased to announce its scholarship and laptop programs for the 2018-2019 academic year. MCWT and its Foundation is offering one high school senior, one GET IT club high school senior, one undergraduate-level and one graduate-level college scholarship for women who are currently or will be enrolled full time in college-level courses for the 2018-2019 academic year at a Michigan university.

The application deadline is January 31, 2018 to be considered for the 2019 fall semester. Late applications will not be accepted.

*The annual scholarship award amount is divided per semester or trimester. The scholarship recipient must maintain an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 and continue studies in a qualified major/degree program at a Michigan university to remain eligible for each subsequent semester to receive scholarship payment. Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the Financial Aid office of the college where the recipient is enrolled.


An applicant must be a female high-school senior student (entering college), undergraduate or graduate level student who is:

– A resident of the state of Michigan
– A student with a 3.0 GPA or better
– Enrolled (or will be enrolled) in a Michigan university
– Enrolled (or will be enrolled) in an Information Technology program
– A United States citizen


Each applicant must be enrolled during the grant period in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program in majors such as: Information Systems, Business Applications, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Assurance, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Digital Forensics, Business Analytics for Information Science, Software Engineering. This is not a complete list but rather serves as examples.

NOTE: Programs in which technology is a secondary element, such as Computer Aided Design, Library Science, Biomedical Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Finance, Psychology, or Marketing are NOT eligible for this scholarship.
